Each of our projects is unique and tailored to the personality of our clients. Our work leans toward clean lines and simple patterns, characteristics of modern design. Yet, we adhere to the dominant sensibilities of classical architecture which includes the use of strong axis and attention to proportion, hierarchy, and the balance within a space. The marriage of modern and classical provides the opportunity to mix pieces of various periods. The result is a human scale walk-in sculpture, where color and form take precedence over the pedigree of any one object.
Use of Acrylic:
I love to mix clear acrylic pieces with wood and metal in order to lighten up my interiors by providing reflected light into them. By using acrylic, and especially in clear, these pieces of furniture tend to disappear, making room for antiques to stand out. Sometimes we create interpretation of period pieces in acrylic in order to establish what I call “new history” to the interior. I like to use white acrylic as tables a lot with lighting because it tends to read as ethereal and whimsical.
We use Plexi-Craft because we can make sure that our design can be fabricated successfully and that it will withstand use. The collaboration is mutual. For instance, we can design something that Plexi-Craft realizes from his or her experience that it will not hold up. They offer recommendations on how to fabricate it better without altering the look of the design. This is why I love working with Plexi-Craft. They collaborate with me rather than just following instructions blindly.
